Accessible and universal design is of the utmost importance as we continue to move towards a culture of greater inclusiveness; technology has removed many of the physical barriers experienced by people with accessibility issue. For universal design project, a redesign of a current website that did if not comply with WCAG 2.0 standards was undertaken.
The ultimate goal of this project was to design a solution that takes into consideration the RGD standards, as well as AODA compliance. The RGD standards for web design indicate that no information should be conveyed through non-text content alone; people who can’t see images and other visual elements must have text alternatives.
